Sat. Nite.
Sioux City, Iowa

Dear Mamma & Papa & Bro. & Sister,

Well, we reached here alright & things are sure going my way so far. I passed the examination we had to today. And I go to the Recruiting Office tomorrow to sign up.

Some of the boys were rejected but the rest of us boys have a warm place in our hearts for them. We marched up to the depot and was examined the first thing.

They are sure treating us right. Get our room & board at the Howard Hotel free. Ernest KINLEY'S BROTHER is staying here too.

They took us to the Grand Theater tonight. It sure was fine.

Well, this leaves me in high spirits. We leave here at 9 o'clock for Omaha, I think, Monday, noon. I will write from there.

I got me a chain for the locket & it is sure fine.

Well, this is short but the rest will be longer as I will have more to right about. Well, Good Bye and Good Luck to all.

Your own true boy,

Kinley

P. S. You folks was right when you said I would be surprised to see Soo City. SIOUX CITY It is a little dingy hole.
