They sure treat us good. We are getting better grub all the time, We turned in our mess kits the other day, & eat out of real plates now. & it makes it feel more like home. But we will be given a field outfit in a few days which consists of mess kit like before, tent, gun, bayonet, flash & blanket, cartridge belt. So you see we will be real soldiers then.

Well folks, I'll have to close. Well write soon, & I'll write more next time.

Mother I am wishing you the most full and happiest birthday, 25th May. And my promises I made you will always be kept.

I am your own son. Bye Bye with lots of love to all.

Kinley

P. S. Oh Yes, Dad we had turnips for supper. I wish you could have been here. They sure were good. And I can eat anything now, even carrots. Ha Ha.
