I received your letter this morning & always mighty glad to get. This leaves me feeling fine & hope it finds you the same.

      We stood muster Sunday & expect to be paid tomorrow, but nothing sure about it.

      Talk about warm weather, we sure are having our share of it. At times we nearly roast & at times when it's foggy we nearly freeze. It sure is a changeable climate. But I don't think this country will ever be hit by frost.

      I sure was glad to hear Ernie was able to pass the Physical Exam. He is the one that will like this life. Tell him to go in as a Truck Driver & Mechanic for they sure get the prices & snap's.

      Well I'll be looking for that sweater as there is times when they will come in handy.

      I have another picture of they Company & I'll have some copied off it if I can. They only cost $1.00 new, but I got this one for 50 cents. So you like that picture? That one cost $1.25. Cheap, wasn't it.

      Claude Peck was pretty sick, but is O. K. know. Got out of the hospital Sat. He was only in a week. Got sick at guard mount so he got out of a few days drill.

      I should say there is some tall guys here. I am a runt along side of my pal. He is just a big kid, only 19 years old, but has got a heart. We always go together & if we should get discharged out here we intend to come back in a car.

      It sure would be great if Allen would take care of the Teacher for Ernie, she sure would be in safe company.

      We have another new Captain & he is an awfully nice fellow. Explains everything plain & isn't a bit cranky. Just like a father to the bunch & everyone thinks he is alright.
