Dear Folks,

Hello, Every body. I wish you all were here today. It sure is such a nice day. I am going out for a stroll along the beach this afternoon.

How is every one there? I am fine & dandy.

Was to a party last nite. The Secty SECRETARY of the Y-M-C-A- gave 8 of us boys invitations to a Halloween Party at the Methodists Home for Girls & they sure treated us fine. There was quite a few other soldiers & sailors. I met lots of nice ladies.

When we got there they put a tag on us with our own name & gave us the name of a certain girl so we had to find her. That was all the introduction we had or needed. Sure had a fine time. But no dancing allowed. METHODISTS WERE NOT ALLOWED TO DANCE Ha, Ha. It was hard to keep from dancing as they had swell music.

Has Ernie BROTHER left yet? Where to?

This company won't stay here long. It will be transferred into other branches of services. I put in to transferred to Chauffeur, but we were all canceled off. I will try to transfer where Ernie is if there is any chance, but don't think I can as he will be in the National Army PRE-CURSOR OF NATIONAL GUARD & I am in the Regular. We will probable know after pay day what will happen.

I see by the papers that our boys are cracking at the Dutch GERMANS across the pond. Well it won't be long now until the Kaiser has enough. What does the Lawn Ridge GERMAN SETTLEMENT OUTSIDE OF COLERIDGE bunch have to say about it back there?

Did Dad get to do there threshing this fall? That sure must be a dull place with so much sickness. Is that Scarlet Fever very bad or just slight cases?

We will stand Muster Wed & will probable PROBABLY be paid a week later.

We have not had our target practice yet. Don't know if we will have any or not.

I go on guard tomorrow. Will be on guard Fatigue Wed, but will have to report for muster without arms.

Little Bill Fleener goes on guard with me nearly every time. He sure is a dandy kid, & as good a little soldier here. Has got John beat by a mile. Mr. Fleener doesn't have to worry about Billy as he will take care of his self any time or place.

We are going to have pie for dinner today. How would you like to have a bite?

I was on Kitchen Police yesterday & also had to stand Inspection but I have a new gun & it is easily kept clean. Have never been bawl out at inspection or never missed a call, so far.

Well I must close for this time. Well so long

From your son
With love to all
Kinley
