Ft Miley Cal
Nov 3 1917
Dear Folks,

Well, as I didn't get a letter this morning I will drop a few lines. How is every body back there? I am fine & dandy.

The Company was split yesterday & I was in the bunch that was transferred to the Anti Air Craft. Charley Willey, MY OTHER GRANDFATHER the 2 O'Connor boys & myself are the only boys from home that was choosen. We are sure in a dandy branch of the service & the safest as our guns are mounted on trucks & I'm in as one of the drivers. I don't know what the rest of the boys will be put in but I hope it isn't the Infantry.

We don't know when we will leave or where we will be sent, but don't write until you hear from me again.

I was over to Ft. Scott & went through the trenches & they put in a lot of hard labor fixing them up.

When does Ernie BROTHER leave? I hope he doesn't get in the Infantry. He wants to put in for truck driving.

We expect to get paid tomorrow or this afternoon nothing sure.

Well news is scarce so will close

With love to all
From your son
Kinley

P.S. Now don't worry Mother because I'll write as often as I can And I'll be alright where ever I am.
With Love
Kinney ONLY HIS MOTHER EVER CALLED HIM THAT

I am sending some extra pictures of myself too.
