Dear Folks,

Your letter & cake came today. Sure glad to get them both. That cake & jelly sure was fine. Kept just as nice as could be. I am going on guard & it will come in handy.

This will be the last guard I'll do here as we will leave this week some time. But it is unknown where we will be sent. But I will write every day or two so you will know where I am at.

The rain started this morn & sure does pore down every once in a while. But I have my poncho & won't get wet.

Ernie BROTHER must be everlastingly stepping out. Them Cogdil girls are pretty nice kids any way. They were well tho't THOUGHT of out on Pearl Creek. JUST OUTSIDE OF COLERIDGE

I think you folks had ought to go to Indiana when Ernie leaves. It would do you both good.

Yes, I heard about Miss Millers eloping & I knew she was going. The Millers wrote to find out if I knew where she was but I didn't even answer because it isn't any of my business anyway. And besides she was the best one of the bunch anyhow.

Well Mama news is scarce & I am almost ready to go on guard. So will close with live & will write again tomorrow. Well bye bye

Your son
Kinley
