Letter dated November 14, 1917
Fort W. Scott
Nov. 14 1917
Dear Folks,

Well I have a few spare moments so will drop you a few lines. I am feeling fine & dandy.

We were over across the bay to the Rifle Range & we will go back again to morrow to shoot for the record.

How is every one back there? Has Ernie BROTHER left yet?

Fort Baker where we were at today sure is a pretty little Fort & back away from the excitement & noise.

I was to the dentist yesterday & had one of my teeth fix. But they seemed something like a horse Doctor. They had so many to work on & they had to hurry up.

You had ought to of heard us at target practice. Sound like a real 4th of July. But some awfully punk POOR shooting. I shot 167 out of a possible 300 & I think I can make Marksman A. I didn't do so much at pistol practice. And besides I don't get to carry one any way so a rifle will be for me. I would rather shoot a rifle any way.

Well news is scarce so I guess I will have to close for this time. Will write again tomorrow. Well Bye Bye for now

Your son
With Love to all
Kinley J C
