Nov. 18 1917
Dear Folks,

Well as it is a day of rest I will try & write you a few lines. How is every one? I am fine & dandy & not a bit hungry as the cake landed in camp last nite & I sure did tie into it & it tasted all the better when I knew you had helped pack it.

It is awfully windy here today. Makes me think of Spring winds back there. It don't seem like Winter to me out here. The weather seems the same to me always.

I got a letter from Inez SISTER yesterday. Poor kid. She sure does have her share of the work & not much. Do you hear her complain?

Mother & Dad, you have a family to be proud of back there. No boys in camp received any more letters presents than I do. & I am mighty proud of You & Dad & the rest & I won't take the wrong path. I am coming back a better boy – a man, than when I left & the farm & chickens for mine.

Well, what are you folks doing to enjoy yourselves? I hope you go to Ind. The old people back there never answer my letter but Auntie's AUNT SARAH FROM INDIANA being sick probable was the reason. But I intend to write them again.

Well Mummie news is scarce so will close this note & will try & write tomorrow. Well Bye Bye

With Love to all
Your son
Kinley J.
