Letter dated December 7, 1917
On the train
Dec 7th 1917
Dear Folks,

I suppose you think I had forgotten you. But we left the day I got your letter, & we have just passed Rochester New York. We went through Indianapolis Ind. I look for you folks & some of the people but didn't see any one I know.

We didn't come thro' THROUGH Omaha but hit Kansas. But it was 3 oclock in the morning. We also passed thro' St Louis but at nite too.

I would of wrote sooner but we were not allowed to so I didn't want to do any thing against the rules.

We certainly have had some fine trip. Expect to leave the train soon, but don't know when.

How is every body back there? I am fine and dandy.

I didn't get the package & sure hated to miss it but you can send me some later.

I don't suppose you will be able to read this as the train is so shaky a fellow can't hardly write.

Charley Willey MY OTHER GRANDFATHER & Les Oconnor & I had the same seat together all the way & sure had some time.

Well as I am not allowed to write much so will close.

With Love
Your son
Kinley
