Dear Folks & All,

I suppose you folks think I had forgotten you, but it wasn't my fault. I am writing as soon as possible now.

We arrived O.K. Like this place fine, but it sure is different from Frisco. SAN FRANCISCO

It snowed & then rained Sat. Sure is slippery. The boys sure do huddle up in their overcoats.

I went to New York City today. That sure is some big place. I went down old Broadway & saw the Great White Way. Also took in a show, but it was so cold I didn't stay very long.

It takes about one hour & ˝ to get to New York from here so you see we don't have much time on a 12 hour pass. We also cross the Old Hudson River. I believe they could put 3 cities like Frisco in New York & lose them.

We had a fine trip coming out here. Was in Los Angeles about an hour, then down through Arizona. Stop at Tuscon Arizona for about 3 hr. That sure was a pretty place, but we pass thro' some awfully desert looking places after that.

We went through Kansas City & Saint Louis at night & I didn't get to see what they look like. But we got off at Indianapolis & took exercise. Chased around the streets for about an hour. I look for some of the people & also you folks, thinking perhaps you might be going through there, but I didn't see a soul I knew.

We passed thro' Syracuse New York about 6 o'clock. The railroad runs right thro' the main drag. Saw lots of people & they sure gave us a hearty cheer, even some of the old black mammies would wave their paw's. BEFORE POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

How is every one back home? I am fine & dandy. Feel awfully itchy as I put on my wollen underwear & it keeps me wigglng all the time. I know what I want for Xmas now. Mama, do you know how to make one of those knitted head gears? A fellow sure needs them out here & I would like to have one awfully bad.

Did that package or post you sent come back to you? I left before it got there & don't suppose they will forward it to me.

Well I can't tell all I would like to about the camp here. But when I come home I'll be able to keep you busy for a while. Well must close & wash a couple of shirts, so answer soon.

With Love & best wishes to all
Your son & Bro
