Somewhere in France
Jan 17, 1918

Dear Folks & Family,

As I have a few spare minutes I will try & write a few lines. How is everyone at home? I am fine & dandy, enjoying 3 good meals a day & plenty of sleep.

It was sure some nice day yesterday. Melted most of the snow & believe the country around here sure did look pretty.

We were also paid yesterday, in French money too. I drew 86 Francs & 65 Centimes. It is kind of hard to understand all this money.

Did you get the money I allotted to you yet? I intend to make another allotment as soon as possible & I want you to invest it in to anything you think will make money. Because when I get home it will be the farm for me.

I suppose Ernest Brother is in the army now. Tell him to be sure & write me cause if he should come over I might be able to look him up. I have not seen any of the Coleridge boys here except those that came with me, but have not been to town yet.

I suppose everyone is figuring on the spring jobs. How is Coleridge getting in general? I suppose there is a lot of new people there. I will be a perfect stranger when I return Ha, ha.

Well be sure & write all the news & tell who is who back there.

I am still looking for the Thanksgiving package yet & still have hopes of receiving it.

Well, take good care of yourselves & write often. I must close now.

With love to all
Your son & Bro.
Kinley
