France Febr. 21, 1918 Dear Folks at home.
Well it has been 2 weeks since I received any mail from you people, but I have not gotten discouraged yet. I keep looking for some every day.   How is everyone at home? This leaves me feeling fine & dandy & better satisfied than ever.   What are you doing for pastime? I suppose there is a lot of changes being made in & arround Coleridge this year.   Mother, you tell the kids I would write them letters but it would the same as I write to you & I couldn't write them all as it would be more letters than I am supposed to write. So try to make these do for all.   Is Earnest   Did you folks receive the handkerchiefs yet? They were not much of a Christmas present, but it was all I was allowed to send.   I haven't received any of the packages yet, but sure hope to as home candies & stuff sure taste good & are well preciated   The weather here has been colder than before. Has even frozen the water in the buckets. But nothing like we used to have at home. The wristlets sure do come in handy these frostie mornings as a fellow needs good warm gloves & wristlets. You never sent anything yet but what wasn't just exactly what I needed. I have my sweater yet, but Charlie W.   Well I guess I have written all the news so will close, hoping to hear from you tomorrow & often.
Your son & Bro.
P.S. Tell Sis Inez that I am wishing her a happy Birthday tomorrow & lots more of them.
