France April 10, 1918 Dear Bro & Sister.
I will try & ans your letters I received a couple of days ago.   Well how is the world treating & how do you like your new place by now? It is serving me fine & dandy & I feel the same, having a fine time always.   I suppose your kids are just everlastingly stepping to the Spring work. But stick to it kids, its the best place in the world & also the best place to help our old Uncle.   Mike, you're right. The landlords had ought to all do their share, besides it means more money for them in the long run. And you want to stick to the hog raising & also feed cattle. You can't lose.   So you bought you a new team. Well I am glad they suit. Gosh, you must of gotten them cheap.   A fellow doesn't see as many real horses over here as he did over there. They have a few good ones.   Say, who lives on the Jack Dendinger place this year & where did the Mauns go to ?   Mike, I would like to tell you more which I know would interest you but you have to wait until I get back as the letters are censored pretty heavily & I would hate to have anything cut out of any of my letters. I will now try & answer Pearl's   Oh say but I sure would like to see your new home. That porch sure would make some nice spooning place.   Who will be your hired girl when I return? Ha, Ha.   I asked Ed Gartner how often he wrote home & he said every week & I think he has, as he has received quite a few packages & letters.   I tho't   What kind of neighbors have you kids where you live now? I hope you got into a good settlement.   Well honest kids, news is scarce so I will have to close for this time. Write often & I'll try & do the same. Well so long
With love to all
