Letter dated May 12, 1918
At the Front
Somewhere in France
May 12, 1918

Dear Folks!

Well I have some spare time today. I will write you another letter.

How is everyone at home? This letter leaves me feeling fine & dandy And enjoying the life at the Front as much as ever. Charlie Willey My other Grandfather is here on the bunk with me writing to his folks also, & even all the other boys are writing home. So you see you folks are never forgotten.

We are having fine times here, everyone happy most of the time but once in a while things get dark but Fritz brightens up our ideas.

Mother, I suppose when you get this letter your Birthday will be past, but I am wishing all the joy, good health & happiness any one could have. I am sorry but I will be unable to send anything this time but it will come later.

Tell Sid & Ernest Brothers that I wished them the best of luck on the 18 & 19th. Has Ernest joined yet and what is he in?

Tell the kids I would of written to them but it is nearly impossible here so try & make this one letter do for all. It might not say much but nevertheless if I could I would write a lot more.

What kind of weather are you having there & how do the crops look? It is rainy here most of the time but the crops & fruit trees sure look fine.

Well, I have written about all I can so will close.

With Love to All
Your Son & Bro.
Kinley
