At the Front
May 19, 1918

Dear Bro, Sis, & Family,

Well as I have not had a letter from you for so long I will write again. I got the candy & tobacco last Wed, Sure glad to get it. & believe me it sure came in handy as I was clear out of smoking & the candy sure tasted good. Bro't Brought back memories of when you used to bring it home to the kids & I was one of the kids.

Well how are you folks making it this year? I hope the crops are doing good. It's my highest hopes now to be home this fall for corn picking.

I heard you had a new teamMatched Pair of Work Horses. Who did you get them from and what are they like? You haven't a car yet, have you?

Really I don't know much to write that is that I can write, but maybe I can tell you all when I get back. I like the place fine & everything goes great. And I am feeling fine & dandy, getting fatter all the time, so you see the Front must be agreeing with me.

Have you still got Doll Kinley's Work Horse yet & how does she look? I suppose she misses me & those long drives to dances. She sure did make the rounds.

Well kids I want you all to write & tell me all the news because a letter from home is sure a good tonic. Guess I'll have to cut this short so write soon.

Your Bro
With love to all
Kinley
