France May 30, 18 Dear Dad & Mother,
Well we are back from the Front, feeling great. To tell the truth, I like the life on the front.   I got two letters from you today, one of May 8th & the other April 30th, so will answer them together.   How is everyone at home? I was sure glad to hear of Ernest   We are having the best of weather here. The crops sure look good. The rye sure looks good & the oats the best one could ask for. But I have not seen any corn yet. I can't hardly wait till I get back to home & the farm. Believe me, Dad, I'll make that farm of yours pay for itself. Hang onto our cattle because we are going to make Linkhart's step some. Ha, Ha. But that is my highest hope.   And if you think it would be alright I sure would like to have a mate to Jack   Oh yes, I heard from Pearl Cook also. She wrote a real nice letter. I will write her & Aunt Agnes later.   Mother on the 25th of this month I tho't   I wrote you when I was up at the front but didn't get it mail so will send it with this. You ask where I spent my Christmas, it was out on the old Atlantic. Had a fine dinner, also Xmas present. Will tell you about it when I get home, as I don't think the censor would let it past.   Well as news is scarce will close for now but will write again Monday. So take good care of yourselves.
With Love to all
Private Kinley J. Cisney |
