France
June 14, 1918

Dear Dad & Mother:

Well as I have a day off I will write a few lines. How is everyone at home? This leaves me feeling fine & dandy, enjoying sunny France, better all the time. The crops & everything looks good over here. & I think the fruit crop will be good too. I hope the crops are good over there.

Do you hear from Ernie Brother very often? I wrote him some time ago & expect a letter some of these days. And I also wrote to cousin Pearl & Aunt Agnes.

Charlie W. My other Grandfather got a letter from his mother saying they had old Lubby Jurgens in jail. That is sure the place for him & his kind. I suppose they will have to take the old lady next.

I don't suppose there is many boys back there now. I heard that Leo B. and Lester Clarence had joined. Seems like they waited quite a while. They used to be friends of mine, but they never wrote so I suppose they forgot me. It don't make any difference to me as I know them now.

I heard you had been having bad storms over there. That is something we never have here, but there is other things worse.

Well, Mother, how is your garden? I suppose you have a big one, but I wouldn't work hard if I were you as it's your time to rest now.

I am sure looking forward to my return so I can get into all the jelly & jam. Ha, Ha.

Dad, how are you doing with the shop? What size did you build & what out of? Are the buildings the same as they were out on the farm or have you moved them around?

Be sure & tell me all about things & they way you will have them go, as I am interested in all you folks do, & want done.

Well, news is scarce so I will close for this time & will write again in a few days so write often.

Your Son
With Love to All
Kinley
