June 30, 1918

Dear Dad & Mother:

I received your letter of June the 4th yesterday & maybe you don't think I was a tickled kid, as it was the first mail I had had for about a month.

This leaves me feeling fine & dandy & hope it finds you the same.

I sure was sorry to hear about Ernie Brother being sick & in the hospital. Poor kid, he sure is having tough luck. I sure do wish he was with me, but we might meet over here sometime.

If I ever find out where the old Cisna Ancestral home? place is I'll try to go & see it, but of course it will be hard to locate it until I get the address.

I can't see why you don't get my letters as I write one every four days & sometimes oftener. But remember if they don't come on time that they are on the road somewhere.

Did you folks go to Randolph to the drilling contest? I got a letter from Mike's Brother & they said that Coleridge won first. I was sure glad to hear that. It seems like if Coleridge is a small burg she can beat them other big towns in anything.

You ask me if we are doing real work, I should say we are doing great business & I like it better all the time.

Oh yes, what did Meyers think of Wellington's having to go back. Sent me a list of the Cedar County County that Coleridge is in boys who went the last time. It sure look good to see some of them having to go.

It seems to me that Lester Clarence & Leo B. waited quite a while to enlist.

One of the boys here gets the Soo Sioux City paper & I see that their having lots of storms over there. We are having the best of weather here & the crops sure look great. But the storms are of a different type & will be calm soon, believe me.

That sure was some trick U. S. Bridenbaugh tried to pull getting Jurgens out. I have my opinion of old Lyss.

Oh yes I got a good letter from Pudge & Alta Gallagher, but it was mostly about their babe. Ha, Ha. They seem to think he is the only one.

Well I have written about all I can think of so will close for this time. So take good care of yourselves, & may God bless you & keep you.

Your Son
With Love to All
Kinley
