Dear Folks at Home;

      Well as I have a day off I will try & write you a few lines.

      How is everyone at home? This leaves me feeling fine & Dandy.

      I got your letter of June the 25th a few days ago, but we have sure been on the go & I could not write sooner. But from now on I will do better.

      Things are going great over here & I believe old Kaiser Bill thinks they are pretty bad, too.

      Mother, that $5 allotment I made to you was stop last month, so I made a $15 per month one to you so you can buy all the Thrift Stamps you want. I intend to buy another Liberty Bond as the other one was paid for in last month's pay.

      Well what are you doing over there to pass the time away? I suppose there is plenty of work.

      I got a letter from Mike's & Earl's Brothers last nite & the way they write, everyone must be up with their work.

      Where did you spend the 4th of July? I can say I heard plenty of Booms & roars of cannon from both sides that day. I surely would like to tell you all that I have seen in the last 2 weeks, but I am afraid that half of it wouldn't pass the censor so will remember it all & tell you when I get back.

      Well as other news is scarce I will close for this time. Tell Ernie Brother to take good care of the little S. M. School Ma'am Ha Ha. And write often.

Your Son
With Love to All
