Dear Folks;

      I am going to start this month off right by writing to you folks. How is everyone at home? This leaves me feeling fine & dandy, enjoying the best of health and having plenty to eat.

      Go swimming every day & therefore it isn't hard to keep my clothes clean.

      I suppose school is about ready to start. Ernie sure will have his hands full now as I imagine janitors are scarce. Ha Ha.

      Who is teaching our schools this year? Julia Flynn said she applied for one of them but I can't think she will make much of a teacher. But of course she probable has change & is capable of handling it, but I doubt it.

      I sure have met a good kid in the army. His name is Cecil Dean from Okla & at the present we are bunking together & also planning out our future. Our plans are quite different but we both approve of each other's so therefore we always agree.

      I want you to tell me how Earl has taken care of the home place. I suppose everything is changed around out there & believe me it will get a good policing when I get back especially the yard.

      What did you get for the corn this year? I got a couple of Coleridge Blade papers & I see ever thing is awful high. But when this big fight is over & we are all home again everything will go Jake again.

      Mother I have ask you lots of questions but I am interested in your welfare & business so answer them all & ask any questions you like & I will answer them if there is any possible chance.

      Well I guess this will be all for this time. So take good care of yourself & write often.
