Dear Folks;

      I will try & write a few lines again today as I have a day off. How is everyone at home? This leaves me feeling fine & dandy, having plenty to eat & we sure have lots of warm clothes. We were issued long underwear, overcoats & rubber hip boots yesterday. So you see the cold weather will not bother us any this winter.

      I received a letter from Inez Sister yesterday & the Blade Hometown Weekly Newspaper today, but have not had any from you for over 2 months & a half. I sure was glad to hear of Mike Brother getting to go. That old kid sure has got the right spirit, & Pearl is a brave little woman, too. I don't think the Cisney's will ever have to take a back seat when it comes to the right stuff.

      The Hartington Herald sure gave Mike a good send off but I believe he deserves every bit of it.

      Inez said that you took Ernest Brother to see Dr. Ingham. What did he think could be done for him? Poor kid. He sure has been sick, but we have to keep a stiff upper lip as he will be straight some of these days. Then he can make up for what he thinks he has lost.

      Where is Pearl going to live while Mike is away? I think she ought to stay with you folks as her & little Wilma would be a lot of comfort & company for you.

      I don't think Mike will see very much stuff as the things look now. The old Kaiser can't hold out much longer. Besides, the doughboys sure have them square heads going some. I sure have seen lots of square head prisoners in the last few months & it does a fellow oodles of good, too.

      We are doing great work in our branch of the service also. We don't bring down so many planes, but we keep them back over their own lines. I have also seen great air fights between our planes & the enemy, of which most of them ended in our favor.

      Well I guess I have told you about all the news over here of any interest. I will now ask my usual amount of questions.

      Who is running the engines this fall? Sis said Dad was paying $10 a day for engineers. That sure is a stiff price, but he can charge more & make up for it.

      What for crops did Mike have this year? I surely hope they were good & hope he gets some good fellow to come take care of it for him.

      Well Mother, I guess I have run down so will close now & take a bath & wash my clothes. No cooties Body Lice so far, but a few flies Ha Ha.

      Well write often.

Your Son
With Lots of Love to All
