Dear Folks;

      Well a few more spare minutes so will try & write again. This leaves me feeling fine & dandy & hope it finds you the same.

      I have not heard from you for so long I don't hardly know how things are over there. Everything is going fine here.

      We are having some wet weather of late. But maybe the sun will visit us some of these days.

      I was reading the Coleridge Blade Hometown Weelky Newspaper & read of Mrs. Gartner's death. It certainly was (a shock) to us. But Ed is in the hospital & I have not seen him for quite a while. Poor Kid. I suppose he has been notified before now.

      The rest of the boys are fine & dandy, and we are getting plenty to eat & a good dugout to sleep in so you see there is nothing bothering us at present.

      So far I have been unable to see any of the other boys. But there is always a chance yet.

      I once saw some of the boys in the same Battery as Pat Flynn but Pat was with Baty. He is now a sargeant. And the fellows say he is a good man at his Job Duty.

      Charley W. Charles Willey, My other Grandfather is here now trying to bother me, so I gave him some of my old letters to read, so he has quieted down some (Some Pal, he is).

      Have you ever received any of the allotment yet? I had them made out for 6 months, that's from July to Dec 31st 1918. And after Dec I intend to make out another one for $25, so you can buy lots of Thrift Stamps.

      Well I guess I have written about all I can think of for this time, so take good care of yourselves & write soon.

Your Son
With Love
