Dear old Dad & Mother;

      I am so overjoyed I can hardly write today. I suppose you have heard the great news as soon as I but I tho't thought I had ought to tell you myself.

      I don't suppose I will get to eat dinner with you Christmas, but it won't be long afterward until we will be together again. Then we sure will enjoy plenty of good times & feeds.

      Everyone sure is in great spirits, singing and talking of the home coming. Some of the boys (yes, including myself) have been home in our tho'ts thoughts already.

      So you folks want to get the car in Tip Top shape so you can meet me on the way. Oh say, won't that be some meeting though?

      You see, it didn't take long for the war to end when Uncle Sam took a hand in it, but he sure knows how to deal with them and I guess old Fritz's know it as well as any. You remember I told that I didn't think Mike Brother would see the real stuff? And I sure am glad he didn't.

      Mother, I can't really think of any more to write just now so will ring off for now. Hoping this finds you all well.

Your Son
With Love to All
