France Nov 22, 1918 Dear Mother;
  Just a few lines tonight to let you know I am still in the best of health & enjoying myself as usual.   I received your letter of Oct. 17th yesterday & sure was glad to hear from you again. I don't see why you don't get my letters, I write twice a week. The only reason is that they may be held up on the road somewhere. Now since the war is just as good as finish the mail ought to be more regular.   I certainly was sorry to hear about Elmer Striven's death, poor boy. He always live in hard luck, he is probable   I suppose when I get back the old bunch will be gone or married or moved away.   We stayed about 3 weeks on that river and certainly had some time, but I didn't get to shoot any game. Some of the boys went wild boar hunting but didn't have any luck. Some were able to shoot some awfully nice trout and I manage to get my share (as usual) ha Ha.   Believe me I sure will be glad to get and challenge Dad to a good hunting trip. He will have to have the car ready also for a fishing trip at the river.   Mother, you had ought to see our sleeping quarters. We are in the attic of an old house. Home made bunks, but good mattresses and also electric lights. We keep warm enough but have to keep busy supplying wood.   Well I guess I have told you most all of the news so will close for now.   You see, Mother, I am writing mostly to you as the 24th is Dad's day & I will write him then.   Well, take care of yourselves.
With Love
Pvt. Kinley J. Cisney
