Dear Dad & Mother;

      Well it is raining this afternoon & nothing to do. I will try & write again.

      How is everyone at home? This leaves me feeling fine and enjoying three good squares a day and plenty on the side.

      I don't think we will be able to have turkey tomorrow but nevertheless will have a good feed just the same as our cooks sure can put it out when they want to.

      We sure have something to be thankful for this year and I guess people will celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with a greater spirit than ever before.

      I was awfully sorry to hear of Elmer's death, and Cousin's ill luck, but I guess mother everything like that is for the best.

      Has Mike Brother been discharged yet? I understand they are letting the boys out as fast as possible, and I think Mike had ought to be one of the first. I wrote to him twice but have not had any answer so will not write again until I hear from him or PearlSister-in-Law.

      I was certainly glad to hear that their sale was good, but seems like they had ought to of wait a while longer and they wouldn't of had to had it. Don't think I am trying to offer any uncalled-for suggestions but that was my opinion.

      You people want to have those cars in good running order when I get back as we want to do a little celebrating on our own accord as I have made up my mind on several good trips when I get there. And I don't think it will be long before I will be there.

      That is about all we boys think and talk about, even have some real hot arguments on when we will land there. But none of us knows anything for sure. Once more, here's hoping we get there soon.

      I suppose it will be Christmas by the time you get this so will wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Your Son
With Love
