France Dec 3rd 1918 Dear Dad & Mother;
  Your two big letters of Oct 23rd and 29th were received yesterday and I sure was glad to get them and to hear that everyone was so well and free from the Spanish Flu.   This leaves me feeling great. About all I do is try to keep warm as it has gotten pretty cold here, but no snow so far, but it might come tonite as it has started to drizzle tonite.   We have moved from the place I last wrote from. We are now at a little village (Bo Homme) 2 Kilometers from Bar Le Duc. Can get papers for Bar Le Duc as often as we wish so you see we can enjoy ourselves a little anyway.   We are waiting and hoping to be sent home, but of course we don't know when that will be, but my opinion is that we we will eat our Christmas dinner on the boat or in Good Old U. S. A. Here's hoping. I suppose Pearl is home by now. I am sure glad I didn't have to go thro'   I think Charley was joking when he said we were Shock troops altho'   Ernie   Mother, you sure was a brave woman to live through the Battle of the Mouse. Ha, Ha. No wonder Sip lost it. Ha, Ha.   Franz sure does believe in marrying off their daughters. Mary must have been afraid she would be loser so caught him when she had a chance. I sure don't fancy her taste.   I was sure glad to hear of Margaret getting married. I always liked her and think she deserves a good man if anyone does. She used to write me quite often, but I failed to ans her letters so suppose she got tired and quit.   You just bet we will have a time when I get back and a time that won't stop very soon either.   Well I guess I have written all the news so will close for now. Wishing you all a Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year.
Your Son P.S. I am still with the same outfit but we have a different Battery Add.
