Letter dated December 14, 1918
Bar De Luc, France
December 14th 1918

Dear Dad & Mother

I just received your two welcome letters of Nov. 5th and 13th and maybe you don't think I wasn't a pleased boy.

I sure would like to have been there and helped you celebrate the Armistice.

We also did some celebrating ourselves. We were on the front at the time and that nite the whole skies were aflame with lights and sky rockets. And believe me everyone was certainly happy.

I also was pleased to get the postal. That kind of makes me homesick. I sure long for those good old days again and when I get back it will be me for the farm.

I don't know when we will leave here, but expect to go any time. About all we do is eat and sleep. Of course there is drills and Guard Duty, but they are light.

I was in Bar De Luc to a show a few nights ago, the first show I had seen for nearly 9 months and I sure did appreciate it. Just think. I have been in France 1 year today. It doesn't seem that long but I guess the time passed faster for me than it did for you folks at home. But when I get back we will sure make up for the time I have been away.

I sent you and Dad a Xmas present the other day. It wasn't much but hope it will answer the purpose for this year and next year I will be able to give them on time.

Well Mother news is scarce so will close for now. Don't worry as I am feeling fine and Dandy & hope it finds you all as well.

Your Son
With Love and Best Wishes to All
